Postcards to Alphaville asks artists to create illustrations of specific characters in beloved films. The project is a “love-letter to films and those characters that brings us, the viewers, moments of joy, sorrow and revelation and sometimes seems more real than the neighbor next-door.” The above illustration, by Gediminas Šiaulys, is of “Juror #4” in the film 12 Angry Men (1957, directed by Sidney Lumet). To view more, including postcards to Bonnie Parker, My Man Jules in Englewood, Nurse Ratched, and Ned Ryerson (“Ned! Ryerson! Needle Nose Ned, Ned The Head — come on, buddy!”), and to learn how you can participate in the project, visit the Postcards to Alphaville website.
